All About Me

Hi! My name is Dana Owens and I am the Media Specialist at Mills Elementary. I started here as a 3rd grade teacher in 1994. I taught 3rd grade for eight years and then 2nd grade for one year before moving into the library. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master of Science Degree in Education- Library Science and Instructional Technology.

When I am not in the library working with students I love to spend time with my family. My husband Steve and I have three children- Lauren, Paige, and Cooper. We also have 2 doggies- Luna- our black lab mix and Rodger- a Schnoodle!

We are a sports family. We enjoy watching our kids play softball, baseball and basketball the most. We also enjoy watching OU football, Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals baseball, and any good hockey.

When I have free time I love to read, scrapbook, and go camping with my family.
